Aishwarya Mahalakshmi Homam

With the blessings of our guruji, “Kayilai Gnanaguru” Dr. Sri Muralidhara Swamigal, we are conducting Aiswarya Mahalakshmi Homam on Friday 21.09.2018 in our Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam, on Sukra Hora 6.00 AM to 2.00 PM.

Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam – Universal Peedam :

Universal Peedam means "Welfare of the Universe" the phrase used by all saints who worked for welfare of the beings in this universe through their spiritual powers spreading the message of compassion and love. This was common for all religions to remove the sufferings of the mankind and inspire them to share their compassion and love with their fellow beings. So the spirit of love and compassion is common amongst all religions of this world. So why this hatred when we work for a common cause.

Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam was established by Dr. Sri Muralidhara Swamigal, who has been blessed with number of supernatural powers (siddhis) by cosmic powers and energies of the universe and beyond.

This is not a temple. Sri Muralidhara Swamigal's Danvantri Arogya Peedam is a universal curer of diseases of the humankind (MAKKAL PINI THEERKUM MARUTHUVAMANAI). A Divine Hospital where the God of Medicine nurses and cures all of us and brings back mental, physical, and emotional health.

Aishwarya Mahalakshmi Homam :

Lakshmi is the Goddess of wealth and prosperity. She is manifested in eight forms known as Ashta Lakshmis. They are, Adi Lakshmi : She is also known as Maha lakshmi and is the daughter of Rishi Brigu, Dhana lakshmi: Goddess of money and gold, Dhanya Lakshmi: Goddess of grains, Gaja Lakshmi: Goddess of animal property, like elephants and cattle, Santana Lakshmi: Goddess of offspring, Veera lakshmi: She is also known with the name of Dhairya lakshmi: She is the Goddess of strength and courage. Vidya lakshmi: Goddess of knowledge.

Apart from these lakshmis, other forms like Aishwarya lakshmi, Sowbhagya Lakshmi, Samrajya Lakshmi, Arogya Lakshmi, Kubera Lakshmi and Vara Mahalakshmi are also worshipped. Ishwarya lakshmi is depicted as a Goddess with four arms, holding two lotuses, and with a varada mudra and abhaya mudra.

Arogya Lakshmi :

The Churning of the milky ocean that gave Lakshmi back to the world also produced Dhanvantri from its depths. He appeared carrying the pot of ambrosia or elixir or 'Amrit'. Ma Lakshmi is thus deeply connected to the aspect of health as wealth and is represented as Aarogya Lakshmi. Aarogya means freedom or prevention from 'rog' or illness. As they say, 'prevention is better than cure'. Aarogya Lakshmi inspires us to inculcate healthy habits and prevent any disease right from the start.

Both Dhanvantri and Aarogya Lakshmi represent health and healing from illnesses. Aarogya Lakshmi lives in the home bringing, health, longevity and vitality to the family members. Here, Arogya Lakshmi is representative of three roles; as the spouse of Dr Danvantri, as a nurturing, listening, caring Mother Goddess; and as a Lady Doctor. For the first time, Arogya Lakshmi has been consecrated with an individual space to Herself. She has been depicted in the same healing concept as Lord Danvantri. She adorns a stethoscope and watch as well.

Goddess Lakshmi is said to have emerged from the Ocean of Milk when devas and asuras were churning the ocean for seeking nectar. She wears red colour clothes. She is shown as standing or sitting on a lotus with two elephants on her either side.

In Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu had manifested himself in ten avataras to destroy demons and save devas and humanity. Goddess Lakshmi always accompanied Lord Vishnu in all his avataras.

Goddess Lakshmi is known with several names like Kamala, Padmapriya, Padmamukhi, Padmasundari, Sridevi, Bhoomi Devi, Jalaja, Vaishnavi, Chanchala, Bhargavi, Sreya, Aiswarya, Roma, Padmakshi, Padmamaladhara Devi, Padmini, Chandrasahodari etc.
