Main idol: Sri Danvantri Bhagwan in standing posture. 6 feet tall. Four hands, holding shank, chakra, amirtha kalasam, seenthal kodi.

Deity speciality: Since He is God of Medicine, He also holds a surgical knife, wears a watch on His hand, and a stethoscope around His neck like a modern-day doctor. There is also a leech found sculpted on the body.

Installation: The sanctum sanctorum is on a double-decker structure. A few feet beneath the actual peedam upon which idol stands, there is a deep space lined with granite stones. A copper pipe, about seven inches in diameter, has been placed at the centre of the space and 54 crore mantras written by 46 lakh devotees from all over the world in 13 different languages have been tightly packed around the pipe. This copper pipe serves as a carrier of the vibrations of the mantra yantras that are constantly reverberating from the strength of the paper japams and spreads the energy.

Special days: Danvantri Jayanthi on Thrayodasi day of Hastham star in the month of Aippasi (the penultimate day of Deepavali). On the day, Sri Danvantri Bhagwan is dressed up in the white pants and shirt attire of a modern-day doctor. Danvantri lehyam is offered as neivedhyam and distributed as prasadam on that day. Danvantri thailam and sukku vellam are also distributed on the occasion.

Prasadam: Danvantri thailam, honey sukku vellam, homa basmam, thulasi and teertham.

Who can worship Him?: People of all religions / caste can pray at to Sri Danvantri.

As described in Srimad Bhagavatam, Sri Danvantri, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is revered as “the physician” of devas. At the conclusion of the great churning of the ocean by devas (gods) and asuras (demons), Sri Dhanvantri emerged from the ocean holding a vessel containing amruta, the nectar that conferred immortality on devas.
