Founder of the yogic science of Kriya Yoga - MAHA AVATAR BABAJI
Maha Avatar Babaji is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Dakshinamoorty Himself. When Swamigal was planning this healing centre and performing the requisite homas, he was given a photograph of Maha Avatar Babaji by a doctor friend. Not knowing who this was he sought to ask, and was told that he was a powerful Himalayan Baba referred to as the Maha Avatar Babaji. Even as he held the picture, he felt drawn to the energy.
Another lady's visit brought him the divine message that Maha Avatar Babaji must be installed at the centre. Swamigal found that Babaji hailed from the south, and was the founder of the much sought after Kriya Yoga technique.
Confirming his intentions from his usual Sugarar Nadi, he built a hall with a cave that had a mountainous exterior. Nowhere else in the south is there a smiling Babaji seated in a cave-like architecture. In 100 days, 100 homas were performed in the ashram, preceding the consecration of Babaji.
Vallalar, Maha Periyavaa and Maha Avatar Babaji were all consecrated on the same day.
