Remover of anguish - SRI SANJEEVI ANJANEYAR
(9 TYPES OF ANJANEYAR NAVA VYAAKARANA PANDITAR)
In His abode here, Lord Hanuman carries the sanjeevani, the life-giving herb using which he revived Lakshmana during the battle with Ravana.
There are nine different facets of Lord Hanumar on the nine steps that lead us up to the idol. They represent the Nava Grahas. As you walk up to the main idol you have darshan of the 9 forms, which in itself helps one get rid of the Nava Doshas. They are often referred to as the Nava Vilakkana Purushar or the Nava Vyakarna Purushar.
The idol of Lord Hanuman was first taken to Ahobilam, before consecration. He was lowered on to his designated pedestal from the top using a crane. The mountain held by Him weighs 300 kgs.! The top of this space is open to the skies as Lord Hanuman is the son of Vayu, the Wind God, and no space can bind him down.
